Set up a system where players could post evidence or have admin support that they lost items to a fail RP situation or to a crash and then community managers could accept the request and use an in game system to wire the items to their inventory..... this would help players a lot..... maybe we could also have senior admins that can deal with this stuff too @Simple

I lost an XM and a G3 to several server crashes. This would be a life-saver.

With Ozy and A2 as possible devs, we could make a much, much better system ourselves.

I disagree. Allowing scamming fucks the economy up and drives away new players. Player-to-player transactions would definitely suffer since it would likely limit the market to a few known "legit" salespeople, since most people would have trouble trusting anyone who isn't already known to not scam. Seeing as (from what I remember) Chronet is trying to move towards a mostly player-based economy, this really wouldn't help with the whole economic divide we had before we went down. It also hurts the newbies because, let's be honest, they probably didn't read the rules thoroughly. As a result, they'll probably be scammed of all their starter cash, get frustrated, and quit. That's really not a good way to build a playerbase, especially with a focus on alliances (orgs and the like) being formed based on mutual trust.

On topic: Ehhhh... I could see a refund section for a very select set of reasons. Things like server crashes, glitches eating items, etc. It would definitely have to have some sort of baseline on the dollar amount lost for it to be worth a damn though. Otherwise it'd be flooded with shit like "So last Tuesday my money printer fell through the world. Hasn't happened again, and I'm only out like $300, but.... Money plz?"

How does it fuck up the economy and how is limiting the market to a few known "legit" salespeople bad? Reputation could actually be important. As for new players, how would reading the rules prevent them from getting scammed? It's ultimately their fault for slackin and I doubt that would really butcher the playerbase.
