GMod Roleplay Standalone Gamemode Released!

    It's happening!

    The biggest update (coding wise) ever to hit our roleplay server is here!

    With over 6000 line changes and over 300 commits, standalone is ready for launch!

    Today we achieve something that only a small fraction of servers ever achieve (including other games). We have our very own roleplay gamemode, all custom built and coded to purpose. I can safely say now that Chronet has a one of a kind GMod Roleplay server. We are now one of the only RP servers on GMod that have a gamemode with a custom (non-DarkRP, non-PERP, non-Clockwork, etc) base. And along with that, a huge amount of 100% custom and unique features that are exclusive to our server. This puts us in a league of our own!

    Now for some technical things:

    The gamemode has under gone 10s of hours of testing, but unfortunately not all bugs/glitches/shortcomings can be found through small-scale testing. That means that there are guaranteed to be bugs in the gamemode, and it is of the utmost importance that they are all reported (using the correct procedures).

    To follow up from that, the server is going to be in beta for a while. Although this doesn't mean much, it's a formality I would like to take when undergoing a project of this size.

    Onto the gamemode name (how players found the server). As discussed previously, I want to try not using "DarkRP" as the gamemode name. For now we're going to simply use "ChronetRP". Next week or so we'll try out "CityRP". It's all about experimenting and seeing what works for us.

    Next up - Halloween Event. Since the standalone gamemode has taken priority over everything else, the halloween event update hasn't really been on mind and hasn't been worked on much. That said, it's going to be a bit late (as you can see, it's not out yet). I'll hopefully have it ready for tomorrow night though.

    Every time I take a break from this community, your ability and frequency in which you update the server(s) makes my return a refreshing and genuinely enjoyable experience. Thank you, Simple, and congratulations. This will be a landmark for the community and I'm sure many will agree. Keep being awesome, dude!

    Just got on, it is great. I like the new voice chat and how it does not display the names of who is speaking, that was feature abused by alot of people to see if someone is at their door.

    Looking forward to this very much!

    Wow! I'm excited! I'll be hopping on in the next few days and testing things out. I'll see if I can find a few bugs for you guys.

    First things I notice:

    Using /y still shows nearby people.
    SA's still appear blue in OOC despite their disguises.
    AdvDupe no longer works due to delay between spawning props.

    I was on the test for the new game-mode, and I can say it's not really ready for public release. But if you're suuuureee....

    There's just too many bugs, albeit most are small. Some of them really affect how the game plays :l

    1. SA's OOC chat is blue, allows people to metagame if you are SA.
    2. You can punch people and break legs, makes punchwhores far more annoying
    Several others that I simply can't recall, but I'll probably find them again when I start playing.

    EDIT: Another I remembered, smoke detectors don't work. Cops and swat don't start with ammo. Mafia starts with wrong ammo. Stuff like that.

    All already fixed yesterday except for SA OOC chat.
    Other stuff can be fixed within minutes.

    It's hard to find bugs with such a small amount of people on the test server, a few bugs have been found on live server purely because of the amount of players on.

    -Mayor can't physgun the stuff he buys with government funds.
    -Money boxes are glitched, can't take money out of them.

    A few things I just noticed:
    "C → Right click → Remove" is completely disabled (not just for world props)
    Admins can't move or remove metal detectors. They also seem to be owned by no one.
    If you die while wanted, you respawn wanted. (coolrune)

    Bug: Players who die while they are wanted respawn still wanted.

    Both already fixed.

    Why do you need right click remove?
    Why do admins need to remove metal detectors anyway?
    Will fix wanted thing.

    Right click remove is useful if your vehicle gets stuck in river. And maybe in some other situations too.

    That was a bug if you could remove your vehicle. I'll make a pay-to-remove function or something for vehicles. So have to pay $500 or something to remove it if it's not near NPC.

    When you become unconsious as mayor, a notification pops up saying "Use (/g) to contact government" or something like that and you can talk in /g even though you are unconsious
