It's happening! The biggest update (coding wise) ever to hit our roleplay server is here! With over 6000 line changes and over 300 commits, standalone is ready for launch! Today we achieve something that only a small fraction of servers ever achieve (including other games). We have our very own roleplay gamemode, all custom built and coded to purpose. I can safely say now that Chronet has a one of a kind GMod Roleplay server. We are now one of the only RP servers on GMod that have a gamemode with a custom (non-DarkRP, non-PERP, non-Clockwork, etc) base. And along with that, a huge amount of 100% custom and unique features that are exclusive to our server. This puts us in a league of our own! Now for some technical things: The gamemode has under gone 10s of hours of testing, but unfortunately not all bugs/glitches/shortcomings can be found through small-scale testing. That means that there are guaranteed to be bugs in the gamemode, and it is of the utmost importance that they are all reported (using the correct procedures). To follow up from that, the server is going to be in beta for a while. Although this doesn't mean much, it's a formality I would like to take when undergoing a project of this size. Onto the gamemode name (how players found the server). As discussed previously, I want to try not using "DarkRP" as the gamemode name. For now we're going to simply use "ChronetRP". Next week or so we'll try out "CityRP". It's all about experimenting and seeing what works for us. Next up - Halloween Event. Since the standalone gamemode has taken priority over everything else, the halloween event update hasn't really been on mind and hasn't been worked on much. That said, it's going to be a bit late (as you can see, it's not out yet). I'll hopefully have it ready for tomorrow night though.
